Dr. D'arcey Musselman obtained a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education (Kinesiology) from the University of Toronto, a Master of Art in Sport and Exercise Psychology from the University of Victoria, and a Doctorate of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. She is an Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (FICS) and is waiting to sit the fellowship exam to qualify her as a Chiropractic Sport Specialist. Dr. Musselman is certified in Active Release Techniques (ART), Graston Techniques, Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) exercise.
D’arcey has been a part of numerous multidisciplinary teams at local, national and international sporting events including Pan American Games and Ironman World Championships in Hawaii. She enjoys working with patients of all athletic backgrounds and emphasizes a holistic and balanced approach to injury prevention, injury management, and life-sport guidance to help patients achieve optimal performances.
D’arcey is a faculty member in the Sport Science Department at Douglas College. She teaches a variety of sport science courses and has a research interest in running gait biomechanics and biomechanics retraining for prevention of running related injuries. She is also interested in the psychological aspect of sport injury. Currently she is completing a research project on pelvic asymmetry and the influence of stride frequency in female endurance runners.
D’arcey’s passion for sport stems from her personal background as an athlete. She has completed six Ironman triathlons and is a former Canadian National Swim Team member. D’arcey has also coached competitive swimming and triathlon for a number of years. D’arcey still stays active and enjoys triathlon, running, CrossFit, hiking, and skiing.
