Trigger Point
Injections
Trigger point injections typically involve a solution of an analgesic (lidocaine) diluted with dextrose or normal saline, administered directly into the focal point of muscle tension. This combination of fluids helps to break up adhesions and tense muscle fibers, flush out inflammation, and reduce pain. These injections are minimally invasive and pose very little risk. The benefits are felt both immediately and over time as the lidocaine helps to reset the nerves and allow the muscles to relax. Once muscle tension releases, range of motion improves and you are most often better able to maximize the therapeutic effects of other rehabilitative physical treatments such as chiropractic adjustments or physiotherapy.
Trigger point injections for treating muscle tension or pain related to:
- Fibromyalgia
- Chronic pain
- Tension headaches and migraines
- Neck pain
- Low back pain
- Structural imbalances
- Poor posture
- Concussion and/or whiplash
- Overuse injuries
Prolotherapy
Prolotherapy involves the injection of an irritant solution into weak or damaged soft connective tissue. Soft tissue includes ligaments, tendons, muscle, fascia and the joint capsule itself. Following a treatment, cells called macrophages are recruited into the area by the presence of this irritant solution. These macrophages pick up the irritant solution and carry it away for disposal, leaving the tissue ready for incoming fibroblasts. Fibroblasts produce new connective tissue, and this new fibrous tissue is laid down wherever they detect damage to connective tissue such as ligaments. This influx of immune cells is also allows for delivery of nutrients that help heal damaged tissue and stimulate proliferation of connective tissue in the areas that have become weak. This process allows the tissues to heal in a way that they often cant do on their own due to the lack of blood flow, and therefore nutrients, to these tissues.
Conditions that are commonly treated by prolotherapy include:
- Osteoarthritis of any joint
- Sports injuries such as sprains/strains & fractures
- Tendinitis
- Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis)
- Knee injuries such as osteoarthritis, torn meniscus, MCL and ACL tears
- Shoulder injuries including, rotator cuff injuries & frozen shoulder
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Fibromyalgia
- Headaches
- Many more!
Most injuries and areas of pain can in fact be treated successfully with prolotherapy.

IV Nutrient Therapy
& Other Nutrient Injections
Customized IV nutrient therapy is a treatment used for many different conditions. Because the nutrients bypass the digestive track, IV nutrient therapy allows us to absorb high doses of nutrients that provide building blocks for hormones, neurotransmitters, and other systems in our bodies. Common conditions that may benefit from IV therapy include increased nutrient absorption for anyone with a compromised digestive system or known nutrient deficiencies, headaches, optimal athletic performance and recovery, muscle pain and tension, insomnia, immune system support and to support energy and mental health.
Other vitamin injections offered include: vitamin B12 shots, vitamin D injections, metabolism boosting injections and stress shots (adrenal support), glutathione injections, iron infusions, and NAD+.
Functional Laboratory
Testing
Specialty and regular screening tests offered to help you get to the root of your health concerns:
- Food allergy/sensitivity testing
- Female and male hormone analysis (including DUTCH hormone testing)
- Cortisol/stress hormone analysis
- Comprehensive thyroid testing
- Comprehensive digestive stool analysis
- Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth test (SIBO)
- Nutritional status testing
- Regular and annual screening panels (Life Labs)
Therapeutic
Botox
Botox has many different uses in a clinical environment. Below are the 2 most common uses of therapeutic botox.
Pain reduction
For certain types of pain that are associated with, or caused by muscle tension, intramuscular botox injections can be used therapeutically to reduce and prevent pain. Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin that changes the way that nerves communicate with muscle tissue, and therefore reduces muscle contraction. Some conditions that greatly benefit from this treatment include chronic headaches or migraines, and jaw pain or TMJ (lock jaw, clenching and teeth grinding).
Hyperhydrosis/excessive sweating
If you experience excessive sweating; whether from your underarms, the palms of your hands, or from your feet, you may be a good candidate for botulinum toxin injections. Excessive sweating, aka hyperhydrosis, is one of the many indications for medical botox treatments. Botulinum toxin can be injected to help reduce the amount of perspiration in these areas for a period of time.
